Soon after breakfast, go to view the famous Volvo Race at Northern End Wellington Island. After the awesome race, proceed for local sightseeing in and around Cochin-the Queen of the Arabian Sea. Cochin is the commercial capital as well as the most cosmopolitan city of Kerala in addition to being one of the finest natural harbors in the World. A home to many interesting sights, the Dutch Palace, Jewish Street, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church and the Chinese fishing nets are a few of the must-sees. The city which once served as a major centre for commerce and trade with British, Chinese, Portuguese, and the Dutch still buzzes with lot of activities.
After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Alleppey. On arrival check into a magnificent Houseboat, entirely at your disposal (check in time- 1.00 pm). Enjoy the backwater cruise on the Vembanad Lake, which has the Arabian Sea to its west and also a vast network of Lakes, lagoons and freshwater rivers criss-crossing it. Proceed to Alleppey, an important backwater destination attracting thousands of tourists every year, who come all the way to enjoy Alleppey for what it offers. Referred to as the “Venice of the East”, the place is home to diverse animal and bird life. Alleppey is also famous for its beaches, marine products, coir industry and boat races. A singularity of this land is the region called “KUTTANAD” – a land of lush paddy fields referred to as the rice bowl of Kerala and one of the few places in the world where farming is done below sea level. Overnight stay is arranged in Houseboat.
After a sumptuous breakfast check out from the Houseboat at 9.30 am. After checking into the hotel at Kumarakom, proceed for a sightseeing tour in and around Kumarakom via any of the following: a canoe, motor boat or houseboat. Kumarakom is a tiny vibrant backwater hamlet perched on the western banks of the Vembanadu Lake. The population of the hamlet comprises of the traditional local population. Yet every modern amenity interwoven with tradition and culture is made available to any visitor. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.
